About us

About us

The Irish Marxist Review is a journal of socialist ideas published by the Socialist Workers Network.

Our primary aim is to provide rigorous socialist and Marxist analysis of political, economic, and social developments in Ireland and internationally. Our scope also encompasses working class and socialist history, Marxist theory, and questions of culture.

Intellectually, the journal stands in the International Socialist tradition — characterised by broad but critically engaged adherence to the classical Marxism of Marx and Engels, Lenin, Luxemburg, Trotsky, and Gramsci, combined with an emphasis on socialism from below and working class self-emancipation as developed by Tony Cliff.

We warmly welcome contributions from across the wider left, and are committed to open and serious critical debate.

For news, analysis, and shorter-form socialist commentary, the Socialist Workers Network also publishes regularly at Rebel News.
